ROCKHILL RESIDENCE

This project began with a meaningful foundation: the wife’s childhood home. The remodel was designed to honor that sense of nostalgia while thoughtfully adapting the house to meet the needs of a modern family of four. The result is a home that bridges memory and functionality, blending sentiment with contemporary living. A crucial element of the design was carving out spaces for balance and individuality. The wife needed a private office where she could step away from the demands of family life, while the husband envisioned his own retreat. His office was designed as a separate addition, giving him a dedicated escape apart from the main home. Wellness was also a priority, addressed through the inclusion of a fully equipped home gym. Spatial planning further reinforced the family’s lifestyle, with the basement acting as a key transitional zone. It connects the exterior and interior, guiding movement from public gathering spaces like the pool area, through semi-private zones, and ultimately into the family’s most private areas.
